Mikayla and her mom, Kim, were at Northside Elementary School in Palmyra, PA for a reading of Our Friend Mikayla. In attendance were PA Representative Mauree Gingerich, PA Deputy Secretary of Elementary and Secondary Schools, Dr. Carolyn Dumaresq , and Jason Klipa from Walmart.
A copy of Our Friend Mikayla was donated to every public elementary school in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania thanks to donations by Walmart and Air Products, which afforded the publishing and mailing costs, respectively.
