This year’s Tri for Inclusion will mark Sara’s fifth year competing as a triathlete with Team Sara. She explains,
“The first year of the Tri for Inclusion, I was super excited to be a part of a sporting event that included kids like me. I have done this Tri for all four years and I love it more and more each year. There are three events included in the Tri; my favorite event is the 75-yard swim because I love to swim and just have a great time with ‘Team Sara.’ ‘Team Sara’ is my team that helps me finish the Tri. For the past two years, my cousin Victoria helped me with the swimming event, my dad biked with me, and my friend Kirstin ran and pushed me in my wheelchair. When I choose my team, I think about who I’m going to win and have the most fun with. I think this is a great way to get children with and without disabilities together. When I am at the Tri, I don’t think of anything other than having a good time and winning!”
We cannot wait to see you compete again, Team Sara!
