Jared will be competing in this year’s Tri for Inclusion on June 23 with his team, Team Jared. As he is preparing for this year’s event, Jared reflects on his favorite memories with his team.
“I have competed in the Tri for Inclusion for the last four events and can’t wait for this year to compete again. My favorite event is the swimming. Although I am pulled in a raft, I love gliding through the water, hearing everyone cheering from the stands. It takes teamwork in the pool and we all come together to make it all happen. My favorite memory from the last four events would be walking across the finish line. I get out of my wheelchair towards the end of the run and make my way to the end on my own two feet. It is always my personal goal to be able to do that. For me, it isn’t about coming in first place, it is about finishing the race, teamwork, and having fun.
The Tri brings people with and without disabilities together to compete.” ~Jared
Best of luck to Team Jared! We will be cheering you on!
